Milestone Properties Cayman Ltd, was privileged to get an exclusive preview of VELA I this week and we wanted to share this with you. As sole CIREBA listing agents for this, and phase II we were extremely excited to get this opportunity as construction has gone on full pace to have all of the new owners of the 50 ultra-cool units in residence this summer.

The Olympic length swimming pool is ready – 50m long with two swimming lanes, Jacuzzi style hot tubs, shallow beds for sun loungers provided the less active residents to relax and enjoy plus a family area too.

This is Cayman’s only Olympic length pool, and is one of the few glass-tiled pools too, the multi-blue colours representing the variations in the waters off South Sound.

The 120,000 gallons will be salt-water being far more environmentally friendly and healthier for swimmers. Contrary to Cayman 27’s recent report, the pool and all the other resort style amenities will strictly be for residents use only!

The poolside cabana already bares the VELA emblem of the traditional Cayman Catboat sails, as do the walls facing South Sound.

Davenport’s developments are always evolving and we were excited to see the new features such as hurricane rated picture windows, which coupled with the 10ft high ceilings really allow the natural light to pour into the villas.

The master bedrooms now have their own private balconies, and the roof terraces are immense as ever! Aluminum railings and higher walls will also improve privacy between the units, plus all the balconies and terraces will be tiled.

The Shaker style kitchen cabinets are solid wood, with Blum hardware – we saw a one bedroom villa maximize the ceiling height with a double stack and an island (optional extra), and a four bedroom floor plan being installed in the two tone. The waist level transom widows allow more natural light in to reflect off the countertops.

As the foot print of the villas has increased, so have the bedroom sizes and storage options. The most outstanding, again was the one bedroom top floor ‘den’ which felt more like a penthouse suite!

The hurricane rated picture windows are over-sized, and even detract from the fact that this third bedroom is actually aprox 14′ by 10′.
